The graduation project is a culmination of an educational journey
at NID. Independent ventures are taken by the students into the industry to gain in hand experience to use their learnings and also learn from the industry as well.
This document shows the 9 month long journey undertaken for the graduation project at Lemon Design, Pune under Mr. Dipendra Baoni who is one of the founders of the company with Mr. Amit Sinha, Prof. Apparel Design, NID who acted as a guide through the project . During this period I have worked on a Zero Waste, Unisex collection for the season Spring /Summer’ 23 and Autumn/ Winter’ 23.
The project has helped take a close look at the Textile and Apparel industry in crafts community, brand strategies, design thinking along with huge learning in fields of branding and graphic design since the company specializes in the field. Apparel was a new venture for them and I was involved in setting up the initial infrastructure for apparel and textile in the company. Starting from research to finding the partners and being involved in the process of manufacturing the products. It gave an opportunity to learn about different textiles, processes, finishes, dyes and trims. The experience working at Lemon Design and also with craft organizations like Bhuttico and Khamir made the learning holistic.
