This project titled “Coir Core - Coir Experience Centre” is a branding and space design concept to be established at Central Institute of Coir Technology, Bengaluru aiming at promoting coir products and educating industry people and upcoming entrepreneurs about the many benefits of this sustainable material.
The branding concept revolves around a nature-inspired theme and reflects the origin of coconut plantation. The logo incorporates the phases of the moon resulting in the formation of tides which aids to healthy coconut cultivation. The branding is reflected in the centre’s signage, infographic panels, promotional materials and digital platforms, creating a consistent and recognizable identity.
The exhibition area is divided into two spaces - a coir panel structure used as an introductory space and an R.C.C. structure which will act as a display gallery. The introductory space aims to provide an immersive experience for visitors and gives a brief introduction to the material and its categories, all of this while standing inside a structure made predominantly of coir composite panels. The display hall houses the entire range of products developed by the Coir Board, starting from furnitures, furnishing, garden articles, textile to other diversified products. The main idea behind the concept design was to make the visitors capable of imagining the infusion of coir based materials in their day to day lives, so a portion of the gallery is organised as a home setup with a living area, modular kitchen and a bedroom. This will allow the visitors to visualize coir made products in their homes and office spaces.
Coir Core offers a comprehensive branding and spatial design that brings out the world of coir to life. Through a harmonious blend of informative exhibits and captivating aesthetic displays, the centre aims to educate, inspire and promote this green alternative to traditional materials.
