Sysnopsis

The Wizard Of Oz Magic Match being here for a long time has many parts and features that contribute to the game’s popularity. One such part of the game is End Of Content levels which is dedicated to the players who religiously play through all levels and complete all of the saga levels as they come every week. These levels pose them added difficulties and a challenge to be on top of the leader board by playing most of the levels. The objective of the project was to redesign the experience of the ‘End of content’ levels keeping in mind the demand of the feature and subsequently introducing new elements to it. The design is fueled by data pulled from the working levels and the design decisions are taken around them. Various metrics like churn rate, Out of move progress, winning rate and others come into play when the decision of redesigning a level is taken. The project has been crucial to bring light upon the importance of data in designing games. Specially in level designing where levels have to be right on point to give the intended feel of the game. Key Performance Indicators are the simple metric values which keep track of the product’s performance. The Key Performance Indicators in game help to shape the game from user’s feedback. At the end of the project I designed a series of 45 levels for the live game. These levels were designed after a thorough study of the level metrics. The design methodology that I learnt from the team helped me in achieving what I imagined for the levels.
