The project commenced with an open brief of identifying new product opportunities in the eyewear sector, supporting Indian consumers' needs and incremental value to Lenskart's collection, centered around the topic 'motorbiking eyewear'. It eventually turned to the idea of designing an eyewear that protects the eye while driving and provides prescription to most of the target audience. Trend study, market research, user behavior, current scenarios, and so on shaped the idea for the final product. Functionality, safety, and ergonomic parameters became the backbone of the selection of design and concept models.
The initial state looked at all kinds of eyewear opportunities by learning the eyewear history, its trends, different types of eyewear in the market, and their manufacturing process. Later it narrowed down to motorbiker's eyewear and their need for corrective eyewear. Covid 19 pandemic affected the lifestyle and triggered a surge in selling protective eyewear. People started widely using protective eyewear over their eyewear while driving. In the ideation stage, all possible directions were explored to develop ways to make eyewear prescription-friendly while also providing safety and meeting Indian aesthetic standards. Ideations had done considering various possibilities to identify the pros and cons.The concepts were 3d visualized for future reviews. Some of the concepts were taken ahead for 3d printing. With improvements, a collection in different colors was designed to become the riders collection.
