The world has changed drastically in the past two years, affecting the way we live and work in our everyday life. During the lockdown, most people have realised the value of their living spaces while staying at home. People have started putting more thought and effort into making their spaces more suited for their needs and decor.
This project started with a discussion about the relationship between architecture and furniture. There is an emerging trend to create versatile furniture that enhances the functionality of the spaces that they are placed in.
After a thorough market analysis and survey, we realised that corners are one of the most overlooked spaces in a built environment. We started by thinking about how we could make these corners and other pockets of space more usable.
The project intended to design furniture pieces that add function to the unused corners and pockets of spaces in an apartment while also enhancing the visual
appeal and utility of the space. The furniture pieces designed during this project will become a part of D R Design & Technovos’s first furniture collection.
The final products included floor lamps with integrated table tops and an accent chair.
