Sysnopsis

Walmart's success heavily relies on the excellence of its store operations across its approximately 10,500 stores and clubs in 20 countries. These operations encompass various critical aspects, such as Inventory Management, Point of Sale operations, Sales and Customer Service, Marketing and Promotions, Security, Loss Prevention, among others. Data has emerged as a pivotal driver for informed decision-making in the realm of store operations. However, a significant hindrance to efficiency lies in the lack of consolidated visibility of operational product metrics, leading to business inefficiencies.

One identified gap is the limited data accessibility for associates, who currently face challenges in obtaining crucial information easily. The process involves manual extraction, collation, and sharing of various reports, resulting in time-consuming tasks that are heavily reliant on human effort. In fact, up to 20+ reports need to be extracted daily, taking close to two hours per store.

The proposed solution, "Retail 360," aims to bolster stores operational efficiency by empowering Walmart associates with streamlined access and clear visibility of key metrics pertaining to store operations. By adopting a data-driven approach, Retail 360 equips associates with the necessary information to make informed decisions, thereby optimising operations and enhancing overall performance.

An essential aspect of Retail 360 is access control, ensuring that the appropriate users are granted tailored access to specific data and functionalities within the system. By implementing access controls, the system upholds data security and confidentiality, safeguarding against unauthorised access to sensitive information. Moreover, user and data management features are incorporated to cater to the diverse needs of multiple users and their respective roles within the organisation.

Ultimately, this project endeavours to shed light on the significance of data-driven decision-making for enhancing Walmart's store operations and how Retail 360, can empower associates to achieve heightened operational efficiency and performance.
