The project embarked on a captivating journey delving into the rich photographic collection of Mr. Jayanti L Naik. This multifaceted initiative, conducted in partnership with the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad, provided a unique opportunity to explore the archives of a renowned artist, teacher, and designer.
This project revolved around archival practices, particularly digitising and preserving Naik's extensive photographic estate, encompassing photographs, slides, negatives, sketches, and various other materials. This meticulous process was not just an act of conservation but an immersion into Naik's artistic universe. It involved the careful cataloguing of each piece, enabling accessibility for both academic research and artistic exploration.
Moreover, my engagement with Naik's collection and its transformation into exhibitions and publications deepened my appreciation for the interplay of mediums, artistic sensibilities, and the profound impact of observation on the creative process.
